The method involves implementing phased operation of a heat source (30) in a heating program (P1) and in a resting program (P2). Activation time points of the resting program are detected. The activation time points of the resting program are used such that the resting program is introduced during heating fluid running process (P2.1) during presence of the activation time points. A circulation pump (41) in a circulation pipe (40) is activated during the heating fluid running process, and drinking water (W) is conveyed through the circulation pipe and a flow passage (11) in a circuit.
