The insert has annular segment-shaped sub-elements that are either hinged together or clamped together by a clamping system. A T-shaped crossbar (5) is provided as running surface for tire. A concave mold (6) with lateral end points (7) is used for mounting on a rim (8) and resting in assembled state. The material of sub-elements is provided with elasticity in area of ?? concave mold such that load deformation of rim faces concave mold when the defective tire radially extends outside crossbar and distance between lateral end points of concave mold is broadened. An independent claim is included for a motor car wheel.
