PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio selective calling receiver with display function where a call message consisting of a mixture of illustration and characters is edited, the message as a result of edit is transmitted and a receiver side displays illustration effectively. SOLUTION: A decoder section 102 detects a call from the received data by a radio section 101 and a function control section 103 controls the entire receiver. An ID-ROM 104, an illustration information storage section 109, a routine text information storage section 108, a matrix character information storage section 107, a program memory 106 and a display position storage section 111 store respectively its own ID number, illustration information, text information of a routine text, character code information of the matrix character, a program and display position of illustration and message. A switch operation section 105 is provided with various selector switches or the like, call message data edited by a transmission data generating section 110 are converted into code information and informed to a DTMF signal conversion section 114 and a display control section 112, then the DTMF signal is outputted to a speaker 115, the call message is displayed in the display section 113 and sent to an opposite radio selective call receiver.
