PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deterioration of printing quality due to the mixture of toner particles having different characteristic by actuating a next developing unit switched to the range of an image carrier surface which is not overlapped on the range of the image carrier surface where the action of a developing unit before switching is left. SOLUTION: When the first color developing unit is in a main position state being in the midst of acting on a photoreceptor drum 3, the speed of the unit is zero and becomes a maximum value once by acceleration from such a speed condition, then it becomes zero again by succeeding deceleration, and the unit is stopped. At this time, a minimum value is obtained. By performing the acceleration again after stopping for a specified time, the maximum value is attained, and further the speed of the next developing unit becomes zero at the main position of the action on the drum 3. A 2nd toner image is developed on a photoreceptive layer 4 in the same process as a 1st toner image, superposed on the 1st toner image already existing on the recording medium (p) and transferred to the medium (p). This process is repeated for 3rd and 4th toner images further. |
