PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of number retrieval and number registration of an electronic telephone directly which is provided on a telephone set body. SOLUTION: When there is an input operation that designates telephone number calling (S101 Yes), an electronic telephone directory is retrieved and a telephone number is called out in order of the largest number of times of transmission processings and is shown (S102). Next, when the called telephone number is a number used for transmission processing, the telephone set proceeds to a transmission processing using the number and the transmission processing using the called telephone number is started (S105 Yes and S106). Next, on is added to the number described in the column of the number of transmission processings in the electronic telephone directory which corresponds to the telephone number used for the transmission processing and is rewritten (S107).
