PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that automatically selects any of a plurality of priority information wherein priority is individually set according to a prescribed criterion and selects a communication means with a priority set by the selected priority setting information. SOLUTION: A priority reference process 25 reads a selection criterion set in a selection criterion register 40. The process 25 also reads any priority setting script related to a communication destination when the selection criterion is set to a 'destination', and reads any priority setting script relating to a time zone including a time denoted by current time information from a timer 7 when the selection criterion is set to a 'time zone'. A selection process 26 checks whether or not communication by each of communication means 11-15 is possible depending on the priority determined by the read priority setting script and selects any of the communication means 11-15 discriminated to be available of communication at first. A communication program 24 makes communication with a destination by using any means selected among the communication means 11-15.
