A handover method and a terminal thereof are provided to reduce delay and disconnection of data transceiving caused by failure of handover without a request for bandwidth allocation, thereby saving network resources. If a bandwidth is allocated for particular time from a serving BS(Base Station)(200), handover initiation to a target BS(300) is notified to the serving BS(1-6). If handover to the target BS fails, cancellation of the handover is requested to the serving BS if within the particular time(7-8). The handover is cancelled according to the request, and a service is received through the serving BS(9-11). The particular time refers to a time for maintaining connection information between the serving BS and an MS(Mobile Station)(100). |
