PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone set that can reply specific speech opposite parties. SOLUTION: When a call signal detection section 14 of the telephone set 1 detects a call signal sent via a line 100, a control section 10 makes incoming call processing and sends a message to urge a caller opposite party to enter a password based on data stored in a message memory 24. When a password detection section 26 detects the password entered by the caller opposite party, a password collation section 30 reads a password set in advance and stored in a password memory 28, collates the password stored in the password memory 28 with the received password, a call tone output section 18 outputs a call tone when the received password is correct and the control section 10 sends an instruction to a line connection section 12 to interrupt the connected line 100 when the password is not correct.
