Dipole Antenna with Gamma Matching

Disclosed are a system (200) and a device including a dipole antenna (210), signal conductors (225) and a transceiver (230). The dipole antenna (210) may be enclosed in a housing (250), and have offset signal connections (220) for transmitting and receiving signals. The signal conductors (225) may be communicatively connected to the offset signal connections (220). The transceiver (230) may be connected to the signal conductors (225) through a balanced communication signal path. The impedance of the dipole antenna may be substantially gamma matched to the impedance of the balanced communication signal path and an input impedance of the transceiver according to an amount of offset of the signal connections. The system and device provides increased bandwidth and reduced self-interference properties within an appliance.
