Implantable microcatheter into venous, arterial and lymphatic system

The microcatheter has a hollow tube (14) provided with a central lumen extending along length of the tube from a proximal region (26) to a distal region (22), where the bending stiffness of the proximal region is greater than that of the distal region. The tube comprises a transition region (24) having a gradient of decreasing stiffness from the proximal region to the distal region. A wall of the tube is free of rigidification in the distal region, where the microcatheter is made of biocompatible material suitable for permanent implantation in venous, arterial and lymphatic networks.
