The invention provides a composition for a diagnosis of melanocyte cytotoxicity which includes materials for measuring mRNA or protein level of S100B gene. The expression of S100B according to the invention is increased by stimulation to the skin and especially the expression is significantly increased only in melanocytes. Therefore, the invention has an excellent effect to diagnose stimulation by skin specifically to melanocytes so that the invention is useful for the diagnosis of melanocyte cytotoxicity.
