<p>The method involves dividing a chain of series-connected LEDs into multiple segments. The chain is operated with a rectified AC input voltage, such that the LEDs are switched on and off in dependence of the amplitude of the AC input voltage. The power of the LEDs is controlled by a controllable constant current source infrared LED (ILED). The course of the power in the constant current source ILED is controlled, such that the zero crossings of an AC mains is matched with the AC input voltage, and the positive and negative peak values of the AC power is limited.</p> |
