PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a part for reflection optical encoder. SOLUTION: The part for reflection optical encoder is made of a metal or an alloy having a plurality of layers formed of at least two kinds of metal or alloy. The part is provided, on one side thereof, with a light reflecting surface part and, on the other side thereof, with a predetermined pattern having no surface metal or alloy where one layer or more of metal or alloy different from the surface metal or alloy is exposed.
