<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that optimizes the light distribution angle of a human body detection sensor for reliable identification of the position of a heat source. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes the human body detection sensor that is movable in a right and left direction. With respect to an angle X in an area where the human body sensor can move to detect a human body, the light distribution angle Y of the human body detection sensor is set at less than half of the angle X.
