Provided is a fiber optic connector with which optical fiber can be smoothly and reliably guided to an accommodation groove, thereby firmly holding and connecting the optical fiber. The fiber optical connector (11) is provided with insertion guidance parts (28, 33) for inserting an optical fiber core into the accommodation groove (26) in an insertion opening at the back end of a base member (22) and a pressing member (23). The insertion guidance parts (28, 33) are each provided with guidance surfaces (29, 34), which are formed in such a manner that the inner diameter is small toward the accommodation groove (26), on the base member (22) and the pressing member (23). In the pressing member (23), the guidance surface (34) is provided with a protruding section (35) that extends toward the other guidance surface (29). When clamp surfaces (22a, 23a), which resist the urging force of a leaf spring member and oppose the base member (22) and the pressing member (23), are forced apart, the gap between the clamp surfaces (22a, 23a) disappears when looking at the accommodation groove (26) from the insertion guidance parts (28, 33) in the axial direction. |
