PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of compatibly achieving the steering stability at low speed, the steering stability at high speed, and the high-speed durability. SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire includes belt layers 2a, 2b with steel cords being successively aligned in parallel and rubber-lined from an inner layer side, a cap layer 3 arranged over the entire width of the belt layers with organic fiber cords aligned substantially parallel to the tire circumferential direction being rubber-lined, and a layer 4 arranged on both end areas of the belt layers with organic fiber cords aligned substantially parallel to the tire circumferential direction being rubber-lined, on the outer side in the tire radial direction of a carcass 1. The organic fiber cords of the cap layer 3 and the layer 4 are hybrid cords with filaments made of two kinds of organic fiber being stranded with each other, and the heat shrinkage stress (cN/dtex) at 177°C of the hybrid cords is ≥0.20 cN/dtex.
