<p>The instrument (15) has a drive shaft (64) rotatably mounted in a shank (62) and comprising a tool element (76) at a distal end region. A radial bearing (82) rotatably mounts the drive shaft in the distal end region of the shank. The radial bearing is formed as a needle bearing (84). The needle bearing comprises a bearing cage, and bearing needles are rotatably mounted parallel to a longitudinal axis of the needle bearing. A needle bearing locking arrangement axially attaches the needle bearing to the shank. The cage is made of partially elastic, metal or plastic material.
