The objective of the present invention is to reduce the workload for power saving maintenance of a memory device and thus facilitate appropriate power saving of the memory device. A management server (110) obtains the application type of an application using a RAID group, which is a control target in a storage device (130), from a work server (120) where the application is run. Then, the management server determines a power saving mode corresponding to the obtained application type by referring to a table mapping application type and power saving modes of the RAID group. The management server sends a setting request to apply the determined power saving mode to the RAID group to the storage device.
