PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load of event decision processing of an image. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 1 includes: a calculation means 11 for calculating a feature value of an image targeted for an event decision; a decision means 11 for performing the event decision for the targeted image of the event decision by comparing the calculated feature value with discriminators for the event decision; a decision means 11 for determining a representative discriminator based on characteristic data indicating characteristics of each discriminator when a plurality of discriminators exist for an identical event; and a control means for controlling the decision means 11 to use the determined representative discriminator.
