PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably determine the lives of electronic apparatuses without depending on performance variations of electronic parts. SOLUTION: In a method for detecting the lives of electronic apparatuses, the life of an electronic apparatus provided with a capacitor for supplying its charging voltage as an operating voltage for an internal circuit of the electronic apparatus during the interruption of power is detected. The data writing process for writing prescribed data in a nonvolatile memory and the life determination process for determining the life state of the electronic apparatus at power-on on the basis of the state of data writing in the memory during the interruption of power are performed within a time period until the charging voltage of the capacitor drops by a prescribed voltage during the interruption of power.
