PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device having a quick-acting structure, where a contact mechanism can be assembled easily, assembling workability can be improved, and temperature rise due to heat generated during application of current can be reduced by decreasing contact resistance. SOLUTION: The switch device is provided with a fixed contact 2; a conductor plate 8 having a movable contact 9 for contacting/separating to and from the fixed contact 2; a center terminal 3 for movably supporting the conductor plate 8; a support plate 7 where one end is engaged with the conductor plate 8 and the other end is engaged with the center terminal 3; a leaf spring 10 which is bent and arranged between the conductor plate 8 and the center terminal 3, by which the conductor plate 8 is supported movably on the center terminal 3 by working together with the support plate 7; and a slide member 11 by which the conductor plate 8 is displaced in a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to the sliding direction by spring characteristics of the leaf spring 10 for contacting/separating the movable contact 9 to and from a fixed contact 2a. The support board 7 is formed of a plate material, having spring characteristics so as to be bending and flexible. One end of the support plate 7 is fixed to the conductor plate 8, the other end is turnably locked with the center terminal 3, so that the conductor plate 8 can be made displaceable with the locking part as a fulcrum.
