PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer member which makes it possible to surely obtain high-quality images free of image defects by preventing the adhesion of toners to the surface of the intermediate transfer member and is capable of well dealing with long-term use by preventing the peeling of a surface layer in use and an intermediate transfer device using the same. SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer member, which is disposed between an image forming body and a recording medium, once transfers the toner image formed on the surface of the image forming body to its surface and holds the same and transfers the image to the recording medium, has an elastic layer 1 and a surface layer 2 consisting of a resin material containing >=50 wt.% 1,2-polybutadiene. The surface layer 2 is adhered by vulcanization to the surface of the elastic layer 1.
