PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that improves missing of an image by quickening a response to an error and realizes a small scale circuit by furthermore simplifying correction processing required for the improvement of missing image. SOLUTION: The image processing unit is provided with a low error discriminator 16 that discriminates whether or not an error caused by applying quantization processing to corrected density resulting from adding an accumulated error of density data of a target pixel (error before correction) is low and with a correction data generating section 15 that generates correction data depending on the density of the target pixel. Only in the case that no dot forming is decided and it is discriminated that the error before correction is low through the quantization processing by a threshold processing circuit 12, a selector 17 replaces the error before correction with correction data and provides an output of the replaced data to a weighting circuit 14. In other conditions than above, the error before correction is outputted to the weighting circuit 14 without any modification.
