PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external control type fan coupling which can control fan rotation at random fashion and precisely by regulating oil quantity with high accuracy in accordance with various operating conditions and can reduce fan noise by preventing 'drag' phenomenon in various situation and further can improve fuel economy. SOLUTION: The fan coupling device in which a driving torque is made to be transmitted to the driven side by hydraulic oil fed to a torque transmission chamber, characterized in that an interior of seal device chamber journaled around a rotating shaft upon which a driving disc is fixed is divided by a partition plate into a primary oil reservoir chamber and the torque transmission chamber incorporating the driving disc, an auxiliary oil reservoir chamber arranged in the vicinity of the primary oil reservoir chamber, and the torque transmission chamber are interconnected, and a valve member which opens or closes an oil supply regulation port provided between the primary oil reservoir chamber and the auxiliary oil reservoir chamber is so structured as to exercise open/close control of the oil supply regulating port by being actuated with a non-excitation type electromagnet using a permanent magnet.
