PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring/reporting device, a measuring/reporting method, and an information storage medium for measuring and reporting the present position and direction of a measured object such as a pet dog, a pet cat, or a loitering old person. SOLUTION: A CPU 202 in the box 103 of the measuring/reporting device controls various parts, and a pocket bell receiving section 205 receives a command to start the measurement of the position and direction. When the pocket bell receiving section 205 receives the command, the CPU 202 operates a PHS communication section 206 and a geomagnetic sensor 207. When the PHS communication section 206 is operated, it transmits messages to a plurality of relay devices arranged nearby and acquires the intensity of radio waves and the identification numbers of the relay devices from their return messages. When the geomagnetic sensor 207 is operated, it measures the present direction of the box 103. The PHS communication section 206 reports the acquired identification numbers of the relay devices, the intensity of the returned radio waves respectively, and the measured direction of the box 103 through a PHS communication network. |
