PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive controller capable of removing unpleasant impact and noise, and also, capable of protecting a lens driving mechanism without increasing the cost and size of the controller. SOLUTION: The lens drive controller is provided with a movable lens, a lens driving means for moving the movable lens along the optical axis, a distance code plate on which a distance code pattern corresponding to the absolute position of the movable lens is formed, a code detecting means which is arranged on the distance code plate and for reading an endpoint detecting pattern for detecting the position of the movable lens just before the moving limit as a virtual endpoint and the distance code pattern linking with the movement of the movable lens, and then, detecting the absolute position of the movable lens and the virtual endpoint, and a control means for stopping the lens driving means so as not to drive the lens when the virtual endpoint is detected by the code detecting means. |
