PURPOSE: An SNP(single nucleotide polymorphism) as a marker for predicting lung cancer and a method for predicting prognosis of lung cancer using the same are provided to easily evaluate patient prognosis, and to increase survival rate of a patient with lung cancer. CONSTITUTION: A composition for predicting survival of a patient with lung cancer contains an agent for detecting the SNP of 27th base of a sequence in sequence number 1(rs6495309) among promoters of CHRNA3(cholinergic receptor, nicotinic, alpha 3) genes. The lung cancer includes squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, or non-small cell carcinoma. A method for providing information for predicting survival of the patient with lung cancer comprises a step of identifying tje SNP at 27th base of the sequence in sequence number 1(rs6495309) among promoters of CHRNA3 genes. The genotype of the SNP at 27th base, CC, is determined to be bad prognosis. |
