PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a thermal printer in which various materials being used for management, regulation or maintenance can be utilized more efficiently. SOLUTION: The thermal printer forming a recording image corresponding to image data on a thermal recording material using a thermal head has a control mode for cleaning the thermal printer using the thermal recording material, and a control mode for correcting the density of the thermal printer using the thermal recording material wherein two control modes are switched in the way of a sheet of the thermal recording material.
