Disclosed is an air conditioner for a vehicle. Air resistance in an air inlet is minimized and cold energy in the inlet and the outlet pipe of refrigerant is utilized at the same time by improving the structure of an intake duct and the arrangement of the inlet and the outlet pipe in an evaporator so that the cooling performance of the air conditioner can be improved. The air conditioner for a vehicle comprises: an air conditioning case of which the inlet has the air inlet and the outlet has an air outlet; the intake duct installed at one side of the air conditioning case with the air inlet and allowing air flowing into the air inlet; the evaporator installed inside the air conditioning case; and the inlet and the outlet pipe allowing the refrigerant to flow into and be discharged from the evaporator, protruding from one side of the air conditioning case, and extended to a refrigerant pipe, wherein the inlet and the outlet pipe are covered with a seal member formed outside the air conditioning case and the intake duct is formed to be integrated with the seal member. Therefore, the air resistance in the air inlet is reduced so that air volume is increased, noise is reduced, manufacturing costs are saved, and then the number of assembling processes is reduced. In addition, the air flowing into the air inlet heat-exchanges with the refrigerant in the inlet and the outlet pipe placed inside the intake duct so that the cooling performance of the air conditioner in a cooling mode can be improved. |
