Disclosed is an air freshener generating device for a vehicle, wherein the air freshener generating device having a structure in which air freshener filling the same is not exposed to the outside so that the fragrance of the air freshener does not varies and deterioration due to oxidation in the air freshener is minimized even if the air fresher is used for a long time. The air freshener generating device for a vehicle comprises: a main body having an inlet into which air flows and an outlet from which the air is discharged; a cartridge placed inside the main body, having an inlet hole and an outlet hole which respectively communicate with the inlet and the outlet, and having a space part communicating from the inlet hole to the outlet hole; a spray installed inside the cartridge, housing the liquid air freshener inside the same, and selectively spraying the air freshener inside the same to the space part of the cartridge, wherein the air freshener inside the spray is sealed off from the outside; and a carrier placed in the space part of the cartridge and absorbing the air freshener sprayed by the spray. Therefore, the air freshener generating device in a fragrance emission ON-mode emits the air freshener into the air through the carrier by spraying the air freshener, and the air freshener generating device in a fragrance emission OFF-mode allows the air freshener to be evaporated and lost by preventing the air freshener housed inside the spray from being exposed to the air so that the fragrance of the air freshener does not varies and deterioration due to oxidation in the air freshener is minimized even if the air fresher is used for a long time.
