An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent overshoot by applying a compensation gray scale signal to an (n+2)-th frame. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a liquid crystal panel(100) and a signal driver(200). The liquid crystal panel includes plural pixels. The signal driver applies a first compensation gray scale signal, which is compensated by an overshoot or undershoot operation based on first and second gray scale signals, to an (n+1)-th frame when an n-th frame image signal has a first gray scale signal and (n+1)-th to (n+m)-th frame image signals have a second gray scale signal different from the first gray scale signal, and applies at least one second compensation gray scale signal including a difference with the second gray scale signal gradually decreased between the second gray scale signal and the first compensation gray scale signal to (n+2)-th or (n+m)-th frames. |
