PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening/closing timing control device suppressing a lock portion set in a release position to move toward a lock position, even when the releasing force of a lock portion releasing means becomes lower than a specified value. SOLUTION: When a relative phase of a rotating member 1 and a rotation transmitting member 2 is a specified phase, a phase holding mechanism 4 energizes the lock portions 42 toward the lock position by a lock portion moving means 48 so as to lock the lock portion 42 to a portion 40 top be locked, thereby keeping the relative phase of the rotating member 1 and the rotation transmitting member 2. The lock portion releasing means (a passage generating oil pressure PA) is provided, which moves the lock portion 42 toward the release position and releases locking between the lock portion 42 and the portion 40 to be locked. An initial motion speed suppressing means is provided, which suppresses the initial motion speed of moving toward the lock position of the lock portion 42 set in the release position.
