PURPOSE: A method of simulating machined shape of a rotating body of a milling cutter is provided to enhance productivity by predicting the offset positions of Y and Z axes. CONSTITUTION: A method of simulating machined shape of a rotating body of a milling cutter is as follows. A simulation system receives information on the shape of a cutter insert, nodes of a profile are created and the coordinate of each node is calculated. If information on the mounted angle of the cutter insert is received, coordinate depending on the mounted angle is calculated. The kind of the cutter insert is selected. The position coordinate of the cutter insert is calculated based on the diameter information of the milling cutter and the shape information of the selected cutter insert. The diameter information of a product, the offset position of a Y axis corresponding to difference between rotating centers of the milling cutter and the product, and the offset position of a Z axis corresponding to the rotating axis of the product are received. |
