PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data accumulation method and a device therefor capable of generating a folder having a proper name corresponding to data in the data accumulation device without executing content confirmation of the data by a user when binary data housed in an external storage medium are duplicated in the data accumulation device. SOLUTION: Existence of static image data in a memory card 202 is confirmed, and the existence of meta data in the memory card 202 is confirmed, and the folder having a name based on the meta data is generated in an HDD 203 in a binary data accumulation device, and the static image data in the memory card 202 are read out, and the static image data are duplicated in the generated folder. Hereby, when the static image data in the memory card 202 are duplicated or housed in the binary data accumulation device, the folder having the proper name corresponding to the data is generated in the binary data accumulation device without executing operation by the user or confirmation of the content of the data by the user.
