The present invention relates to an M2M terminal capable of managing external interface pins and an external interface pin modification method of the same. The purpose of the present invention is to increase the variety of peripheral devices, which can be externally attached, and extend the range of protocols by enabling a limited hardware interface to be flexibly used. To achieve such a purpose, the present invention includes the following parts: an interface pin part to interface with the outside; an interface pin modification part modifying pins of the interface pin part; and an M2M application program part which delivers a request signal to the interface pin modification part in order to use specific external hardware interface pins, waits for a response signal from the interface pin modification part, and uses the external hardware interface pins.
