PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that can properly adjust the sharpness of a contour of an image and magnify/reduce the image without causing image quality deterioration in the contour. SOLUTION: The image display device of this invention is provided with a means that calculates a feature quantity with respect to a change in an image level of an original image on the basis of pixel data composing the original image, a means that sets a pixel data generating point of a new image corresponding to the original image on the basis of the feature quantity, and a means that interpolates the pixel data of the original image at the pixel data generating point to compose a new image.
