PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery for improving adhesion of an interface located between an expanded metal grating body and an active material in a positive electrode plate, which will not caust early reduction in discharge capacity, regardless of heavy load or light load, and is very satisfactory in service life performance. SOLUTION: A covering layer 3, composed of a lead-tin alloy as a first layer, and a lead-antimony alloy as a second layer, is arranged on the surface of a positive electrode grating body 2, composed of the expanded metal grating body of a lead-calcium-tin alloy.
