PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electronic cash register having conventional functions and capable of printing and outputting document data such as an account book directly. SOLUTION: When an account book preparation key is turned on (step S5 is affirmed), the data necessary for document is extracted from commodity sales data inputted from a keyboard (step S6) and is synthesized with format of the account book (step S8). Next, image data of the account book is prepared (step S9) and is resolved into thread (predetermined width) in the lateral direction or the longitudinal direction in accordance with the indicated direction of printing (steps S12, S13). Then, the thread is printed on a rolled paper by a printer. The printed document data having the predetermined width is cut from a perforated line and is arranged and bonded on a mount.
