PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radio LAN system, having an highly practical antitheft function. SOLUTION: The radio LAN system communicates data among computers (radio terminals) 101, 102, and 103 for connecting radio communication adaptors 201, 202, and 203 via an access point 301. The access point 301 constantly generates a signal at a fixed interval. The radio terminals 101, 102, and 103 are allowed to have a function for measuring the strength of a signal from the access point 301. In the function for measuring the strength, the strength is compared with a preset strength, and a specific packet, including the MAC address of the radio terminal, is transmitted when the level is not exceeded. The access point that has received the transmitted packet stores the MAC address at a storage medium, and displays the MAC address on a liquid crystal or the like, or prints it by a printer or the like, thus reporting that there was a theft.
