PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of catching up with the current broadcasting by digest reproduction of a storage medium. SOLUTION: A moving picture storing means 203 stores an input image. A scene characteristic information storing means 204 stores scene characteristic information about each of a plurality of scenes constituting a moving picture in the moving picture storing means 203. A digest preparing means 205 prepares a digest about the reproduced moving picture on the basis of an external instruction and the scene characteristic information in the scene characteristic information storing means 204. A reproducing means 206 reproduces the moving picture in the moving picture storing means 203 on the basis of the digest prepared by the digest preparing means 205.
