A tire changing tool head, or a mount/demount head (10) for a tire changing machine (100), includes a head body (14) and a tongue member (18). The tongue member is pivotally attached to the head body at a pivoting joint (44). The tongue member includes a tongue shoulder (50) and a tongue blade (24) for engaging a tire bead during tire installation. The tongue member includes a non-metal material, such as a polymer, for preventing wheel rim (22) damage in some embodiments. The head body includes a bead lifter tool (16) protruding therefrom. In some embodiments, the head body and bead lifter tool include a metal material. |
