An abrasive article including a bonded abrasive body having abrasive particles contained within a bond material, the bond material including a vitreous material formed from a mixture having aluminum oxide (A12O3), bismuth oxide (Bi2O3), and boron oxide (B2O3), and wherein the mixture includes an amount (wt%) of aluminum oxide less than an amount (wt%) of bismuth oxide and the amount (wt%) of aluminum oxide is less than an amount (wt%) of boron oxide.
