A power control system with a load-following operation function in one preferable embodiment of the present invention comprises: a load capacity calculating unit for calculating power required for a load; a load capacity comparing unit for comparing the power capacity for load calculated by the load capacity calculating unit with a predetermined first set value; a power supply controlling unit for selecting and controlling at least one selected from a new renewable energy source, a battery or a grid to supply power to the load. The power control system with a load-following operation function and a power control method therefor facilitate power control by interlinking or not interlinking with the new renewable energy source, the battery, and electric power of the grid. In addition, according to the present invention, it is possible to level off the electric power of the grid by shifting peak power of the gird to the new renewable energy source and/or the battery. Moreover, it is possible to control a power supply amount to the load from the new renewable energy source and the battery, and a power supply amount to the load from the gird and, to be supplied with power from the grid if the power is lacking, whereby initial investment in the new renewable energy source can be reduced.
