<p>The invention relates to an apparatus(100) and a method for the disinfection of skin areas, particularly for the disinfection of hands(H). Disinfection is achieved by application of a short IR light pulse emitted by at least one IR source(103) to the skin area. The parameters of the light pulse are chosen such that germs at the skin surface are killed while damaging of deeper skin layers is prevented.</p> |
