<p>Provided is a tuning-fork-type crystal oscillator that can effect an improvement in vibration characteristics. The tuning-fork-type crystal oscillator (1) is provided with: a tuning-fork-type vibrating piece (2) comprising a crystal and having a base (3) and vibrating arms (4, 5) having first ends (4a, 5a) and second ends (4b, 5b), the first ends (4a, 5a) being contiguous with the base (3); and vibrating electrodes (7, 8) that are provided to the vibrating arms (4, 5). The vibrating arms (4, 5) are provided with a through-hole (4c) and at least four crosspieces (6). With the direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5) that links the first ends (4a, 5a) and the second ends (4b, 5b) as the lengthwise direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5), and a direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5) as the widthwise direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5), the lengthwise direction of the through-hole (4c) is the same direction as the lengthwise direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5), and the widthwise direction of the crosspieces (6) is the same direction as the lengthwise direction of the vibrating arms (4, 5). The aperture ratio, {(through hole (4c) lengthwise direction dimension - crosspiece (6) widthwise direction dimension × number of crosspieces (6))/through hole (4c) lengthwise direction dimension}, is in the range of 0.50-0.93.</p> |
