<p>A method and apparatus utilize a location resolution request that may be sent to one or more devices to obtain a reply that provides location information. The reply may also identify a relative time such as the age of the location information and estimated accuracy of such information. Multiple location resolution request messages may be sent so that the location information obtained from replies to that message can be processed utilizing an error correction method to improve the reliability and precision of the location information until the location information that is so corrected is determined to be at or above a predetermined accuracy threshold such as at or above a 90% accuracy confidence interval or that a determined location is at or exceeds a predetermined confidence interval.</p>
