A battery charging system according to an aspect of the present invention, capable of preventing sparks or electric shocks caused by a short circuit at a charging terminal, comprises a charging device for charging the battery by supplying power for an electronic device including a chargeable battery and the battery. The electronic device comprises: a first charging terminal being electrically in contact with the charging device; a first charging switching part for if it turns on, supplying the power for the battery via the first charging terminal and if it turns off, blocking the supply of the power to the battery; and a first controller for if the first charging terminal comes in contact with the charging device and charging current is induced from the charging device, making the first charging switching part turn on, and if it is determined that the first charging terminal is separated from the charging device or charging is finished, making the first charging switching part turn off.
