In the present invention, a tracking adjustment method involves the following: determining whether a state is a first adjustment state in which a zoom lens is set to the telephoto side and a focus lens is adjustable, or a second adjustment state in which the zoom lens is set to the wide side and a tracking lens is adjustable; switching detection-area size between the first adjustment state and the second adjustment state; generating an evaluation value within the detection area in an image signal acquired from a camera device (200); and displaying the evaluation value on a monitor (14).
