Provided is an electrophoresis instrument with which it is possible to easily carry out a separation of a biological sample with good reproducibility by isoelectric focusing. The electrophoresis instrument (10) comprises an electrophoresis chamber (1) in which is installed a sample separation medium (42) which separates a biological sample by electrophoresis. A depression (2) for infusing a sample solution including the biological sample is disposed on an installation surface (1a) on the electrophoresis chamber (1), said installation surface (1) being where the sample separation medium (42) is installed.
