The present invention relates to an X-ray detector and to a method for driving same. The X-ray detector according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a sensor panel in which a plurality of pixels are defined and which includes a photo diode converting light corresponding to incident X-rays into an electrical signal and a switching element connected to one end of the photo diode and controlling the output of the electrical signal; a light-emitting unit providing light to the photo diode; and a voltage providing unit connected to the other end of the photo diode and selectively providing different first and second voltages.
